Augustine: You are a scholar, Dr. Lindsey – not a warrior. In that regard I have several centuries more experience than you! Don’t be a fool – die quietly, and you will not suffer.

(Instead of forfeiting, Edwin takes another shot at Augustine. Augustine begins transforming into his true form: Pious Augustus!)

Pious: You cannot escape me, Lindsey! This place will be your tomb, just as it is Mantorok’s! Guardians of Xel'lotath! Kill him!

Black Guardian: This is the one that seeks to do combat...with me?
(Augustine’s voice comes from the side, and as Paul watches, he slowly turns into his true form: Pious).
Pious: Your task, my liege and Greater Guardian, is to guard this place. Do not worry about this worm. His kind yelps in terror at the sight of your mightiness. We will dispose of him ourselves.
(The guardian looks carefully at Luther, and then without thinking destroys him. Paul’s remains lie on the floor in a pool of blood.)
Black Guardian: If I am to guard this place, then I will do it as I see fit. Begone! Leave me, and I will guard the artifact, as you have instructed.

Knight: Who…are…you?
Masked Man: I am your lord and conqueror!
(The masked ruler changes into his true form, Pious Augustus.)
Knight: What manner of forsaken being are you?
Pious: So, you can see me in my true form. You are a gifted man…Take this one, and use him as the foundation for the pillar. (The two attendants grab the wounded knight and drag him off)
Pious: He is special, and should be given a special place among the suffering…

Pious: And what news do you bring me, architect?
Roberto: The foundations are infested! Demons and devils! Many lives will be lost if you try to build there…!
Pious: You have done well to complete your goal, Bianchi. The construction will continue as planned.

Roberto: But the demons…!!?? You’d be insane to build there!
(Roberto is held back by the two guards…)

(High atop the tower, cries can be heard. Here, Pious and his guards are throwing people into the giant tube of the tower. First the wounded knight is thrown in, while others cry as they await their turn. Pious stands by to watch the horrible actions, while speaking to his victims…)
Pious: I am the Scourge of God, appointed to chastise you, since no one knows the remedy for your iniquity except me. You are wicked, but I am more wicked than you. So be silent! Now you, architect. (Roberto is pushed in the back by a guard with a spear towards the side of the hole…)
Pious: You are about to make your largest contribution to this project...

Pious: Ah ha ha! Ms. Rovias, you’re just in time. The summoning spell I began two thousand years ago, is finally complete. You will now have the honor of being the first morsel, for my Lady Xel’lotath. An appetizer, for the banquet your race shall provide.
